We’re Married!

We have been back in California for 2 days now and are settling into married life (honestly it feels exactly like engaged life). It’s July and we only have 3 short weeks until we are married! We’re really busy right now with last minute details and planning. Make sure to bring an appetite and your dancing shoes to the reception, it’s going to be a blast! We’re looking forwarding to seeing everyone at the wedding and reception! Hey everyone, it’s been a while since our last update, we’ve been really busy!

We’ve narrowed down most of the big decisions like Sarah’s dress, tuxes and bridesmaid dresses. We also just reserved our honeymoon in the Bahamas, which will be a nice, relaxing week after our wedding!

During December we had a chance to do a tasting at the Thatched Cottage (our reception hall). The food was amazing! We know everyone will be able to find something that they can enjoy. Be sure to bring your appetite :).

We also spent some time this weekend updating our wedding registry. It’s a lot harder than it would seem to make a list of things you think you’ll need in the future.

Invitations will go out in about a month, we’re still trying to get them just right.

We’re almost there! Before you know it, it will be all over!

It’s Done!

After countless hours of slaving over a glaring computer screen, Sarah and I have finished our wedding website! It was a lot of work getting all the content together and making sure every pixel lined up perfectly.

Now it’s time to relax for a night before we get to work on other important wedding stuff!

Ryan and I have been spending a lot of time over the past week working on the wedding website. Instead of battling with the brutal Silicon Valley traffic for Labor Day weekend we decided to work on the website to get it out of the way.

We Have a Photographer

For many of you that know Ryan, he is an avid photographer and photography is something that is near and dear to his heart. We both decided long ago that our wedding photographs are the most important thing about the wedding. This being said, we really wanted to have a great wedding photographer to capture our big day.

We are very lucky to have Michael O’Neill as our wedding photographer.
A bit about Michael O’Neil:

Michael O’Neill has been a working professional photographer for more than 28 years, owning and operating his own studio for over 22 years. In addition to his award-winning wedding photography, Michael produces limited-edition fine art prints, which are offered through prestigious art galleries in the New York metropolitan area. His fine art works are held in private collections worldwide.

In the March 2007 issue of Rangefinder there was a wonderful article written by Michael called “Preserving Traditional Excellence“. This article is a wonderful read and will teach you a lot about our photographer!

Setting up Wordpress

I just set up Wordpress to work with wedding.rsdoherty.com. Wordpress is a very popular content management system. This will allow Ryan and I the ability to update the site quite easily as we get more information about the wedding. Thanks and stay tuned for updates!

We Have a Reception Hall!

Ryan and spent Christmas on Long Island and was able to spend some time looking at a lot of different potential reception halls for our wedding. We finally narrowed it down and have chosen to go with the Historical Thatched Cottage in Centerport, NY.

The Thatched Cottage is absolutely gorgeous and is located right on the water. Plus this has been Sarah’s ‘dream’ wedding reception hall since she was very little!
